Governor says Kamchatka Region to create fish exchange
PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, Jun 21 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Kamchatka Region will create a fish exchange aiming to increase exports and to control pricing and production of fish and seafood, Governor Vladimir Solodov’s press service said in a statement on Tuesday.
"I am sure that creation (of a fish exchange) will not only expand exports for Kamchatka’s fishermen, but also ensure transparency of production and logistics chains, control over pricing of fish products, as well as minimization of the volume of illegally harvested fish and seafood," Solodov said as quoted in the statement.
The Kamchatka Region accounts for 25% of Russia’s production of processed and preserved fish and for 40% in the country’s Far East.
